if it was that simple i would lol, anyway i checked both sticks individually, first stick zero errors, no notes, 2nd stick, no errors, 1 note, Your RAM may be vulnerable to high frequency row hammer bit flips. However the conditions needed to induce these errors occur only very rarely in normal PC usage, and so this should not be of concern to most users.

so, does that mean there is some other problem? or should i have run 8 passes rather than 4? here is the file from the test of the 2nd stick, i swapped back to the first stick which had no errors or notes and will see how it goes, could be my ram is ok but my motherboard is shot, i dunno, ideas?

Run with 4GB as you are now for a week or two. If no BSOD then add the other 4GB. See what happens.

It's possible removing and reinserting the ram has fixed the problem by removing some corrosion from the pins. May not be visible to the naked eye.

i run 2 sticks of 8, but yeah i was going to do that anyway, see how it goes, so far no blue screen, so hopefully all is well.

so, i was running one stick, got a new motherboard so i replaced my old one to see if it was the problem, put in both sticks, only cost me 114 so, all good, but now, rather than blue screening, it just seems to reboot with no errors apart from looking in the event viewer where it says the reboot was unexpected.. what do i do now? swap back the motherboards, remove the ram again, i'm totally at a loss now.

I'd try one stick of RAM again.

well, i installed the motherboard without reinstalling, and when i started having the problems, i just did a reinstall, i'll let it run and see how we go, if it crashes again, then i will deff know this time the ram is the problem, and not the motherboard.

really strange errors now, swapped motherboards, and now, i have had 2 blue screens, but before the system can generate the crash dump the whole system just turns off, i got no idea why, as i can't look at any crash dumps at all, running 2 sticks of ram still, but if it was the memory, wouldn't i just be getting the normal memory management crash?

I assume your new mobo is now Gigabyte B85M-D3H-A.
First update your BIOS to the latest version F3a Fix memory compatibility.

hmm, thought i had, might that be the reason for the power down blue screens? think i know why i didn't do the BIOS upgrade, was listed as BETA and didn't think it wise to do it, but i will now and hope that might fix things, will see how it goes and report back.

nope, just did it again, system blue screened, then before it could even make a crash dump it powered off, really starting to stress out over this... wish i could figure out what in the world is wrong... removed a stick of ram, cause that was the suspected problem before, will see how it goes, hopefully it's something simple, course it also means i blew 130 on a motherboard for no reason...

    How old is your PSU?
Do you have a spare one (or borrow one) to test your system.

about a year old, can play fine no problem, and nope, don't have a spare either, or one i could borrow, it was fairly costly, 750 to 800w psu as far as i remember, system can stay idle no problems, gaming is not a problem, system didn't actually start blue screening till i installed Razor synapes and the drivers for my Razor headset, that was when the first blue screen happened, i've since removed synapse and the Chroma drivers, but doesn't appear to have fixed anything...

yep did that, i went away for a week, and before i did i pulled a stick of ram, and didn't have a single problem while i was using my PC with only 1 stick of ram running, but i'll keep an eye on things for a while longer and see how things go.
