Windows 10: BSOD driver overrun stack buffer

After a week it started crashing at random and restarting immediately. I unchecked the automatic restart and at the next crash it gave a stopcode: DRIVER OVERRUN STACK BUFFER and I got a minidump (see https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlHZ5mkB9k59smKliu8VpE35UnIR?e=q2c0re). I tried following these instructions (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/driver-verifier-tracking-down-a-mis-behaving/f5cb4faf-556b-4b6d-95b3-c48669e4c983) to start Driver Verifier but this only led to continuous crashing with stopcode: DRIVER VERIFIER DETECTED VIOLATION for which I had to return to my last system restore point to get my computer started up again. Alas there was no new minidump file.


What should I do next?

Windows 10 BSOD, Driver overran stack buffer

The DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER bug check has a value of 0x000000F7. This indicates that a driver has overrun a stack-based buffer.

Cause

A driver overran a stack-based buffer (or local variable) in a way that would have overwritten the function's return address and jumped back to an arbitrary address when the function returned.

This is the classic "buffer overrun" hacking attack. The system has been brought down to prevent a malicious user from gaining complete control of it.

Resolution

Use the kb (Display Stack Backtrace) command to get a stack trace.

The last routine on the stack before the buffer overrun handlers and bug check call is the one that overran its local variable.

I am getting the Driver Overrun Stack Buffer BSOD Error while installing Display driver in windows 10, I have I ball slide tablet with windows 10, but after resetting the device device tries to update the display driver from windows update and while install
the screen goes blank and the system restarts with Blue screen

BSOD Error DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER indicates that a driver has overrun a stack-based buffer.

This is the classic "buffer overrun" hacking attack. The system has been brought down to prevent a malicious user from gaining complete control of it.

I suggest you to disconnect all the external devices apart from keyboard and mouse if connected to the laptop and perform check disk.

Check Disk is a utility in Windows that verifies the file system integrity of a volume and fixes logical file system errors.
