Windows 10: BSOD/Memtest Fail/Verifier Results

Hi there,


Have been battling seemingly random BSODs since building PC 6-12 months ago. Given it was a new build it was difficult to isolate any specific hardware or drivers that were causing the issue, and don't know enough to understand Event Viewer. A BlueScreen viewer also gave vague results, so I've ignored the problem for the most part (BSOD occurs approx once a fortnight? and I get all sorts of different error codes).


Have decided it's time to get it sorted, I did a memtest and said there was a problem. So I followed a Windows help article on running Verifier to find the problematic drivers. I'm flying blind at this point, but the internet tells me to start a new topic here and to upload some files and wait for assistance.

I'm not overclocking (as far as I'm aware), however, I do recall having to change the RAM settings to get it running at a higher frequency. But I've always been under the impression this wasn't overclocking as such, this was simply picking one default configuration over another default configuration. The RAM is running at advertised numbers, and whilst this exact make and model isn't explicitly listed as supported by the mobo manufacturer, I'm fairly certain there are a number of other models with similar numbers that are supported.

Experiencing BSODs, verifier's results

I have been having bsod's troubles for a little while, memory_management and paging_file errors.

I followed a thread on using driver verifier and here's the minidump I was able to get + msinfo

minidumpabdmsinfo.zip

I already used memtest to make sure it wasn't anything physical (so it shouldn't)

I have no idea how to read that dmp file so if someone could point me towards the faulty driver(s) I'd appreciate x)

 

BSOD - DRIVER VERIFIER DETECTED VIOLATION - AsusPTPFilter.Sys

I have an Asus ROG GL553VE , after the last windows 10 update 1803 I started to get the computer completely frozen seconds after loading to the actual gameplay of the games sometimes with a static noise and/or image starting to get white or parts of the
screen going static. Here it is what i tried so far :

• Rollback NVIDIA graphic drivers - Didn't work
• Rollback Windows 10 to 1703 - Didn't Work

What I have seen in some cases is that online games I get the screen frozen and the only to get out of it is to hard shut down on the power button of the laptop, in offline games I got the following BSOD:

• page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
• system_thread_exception_not_handled

After some searches on the Web I decided to try the built in Driver verifier of Windows 10 , the BSOD that I get is the following :

• BSOD - DRIVER VERIFIER DETECTED VIOLATION - AsusPTPFilter.Sys

Can you please advise on what to do in this situation ? are these issues related or should I run Memtest?

BSOD when running driver verifier

Hello, I'm having BSODs when I run the driver verifier. I tried memtest and some errors showed up but I guess that was because some wrong settings since I put everything back to default and memtest was ok, but the driver verifier again caused BSOD.
