Windows 10: BSOD - need a further analysis

We had this BSOD happening on one of the HP laptops.


Based on what the user said, the machine was running in the office during the morning and it was properly shutdown before left office. Then started again at home and the BSOD kicks in. The user waited for a few minutes - as no reboot - staying the BSOD screen. Shutdown gracefully. Restarted again and BSOD again. Turned off the machine. Tried again this morning and worked OK.


Then we, IT, looked at the EVENT VIEWER and nothing significant appearing what might cause this.


We get the minidump from the machine and we need help to have a further analysis of what might cause this BSOD or point us in the right direction.

there is something wrong with suggested for you list on npu page. clicking on picture of dd:da review from suggested for you list leads to perormance analysis instead of review. hovering mouse over it shows in status bar correct link to review but clicking on picture reloads analysis.
links from reviews&articles page works fine.

edit: link from home page of npu sends you to analysis instead of review as well.

Random BSOD while browsing internet


BitDefender is nothing special. mwac.sys causes BSODs anywhere.

In that very thread, the suggested action apparently worked.

The storage and network filters of any third party antivirus can cause BSODs. Neither MBAM nor BitDefender is any special. For a regular antivirus, it may be shifted to an alternative; but MBAM has no alternative. So a clean install of the said program is the most feasible first step.
As far as the first step is not failing, it is better to not think for the second step. Because the BSODs are not universal, failure at the first step is not universal; and success at the second step is also not universal.
That is why I posted that my suggestion may work, or may not. Let us see where it goes.
