  1. BSOD three times in last 24 hours

    Hi all,

I've been having some trouble with BSOD's while playing games in the last 24 hours and the problem seems to have come from nowhere.

Initially I had a kernel BSOD UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP and after some googling I read that my error may be dust related so I took time to clear fans and inside my case of any excess dust. This seemed to resolve this error for a period.

Next I received another BSOD error SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 3b, which I thought was due to out of date drivers so I updated my gfx drivers and after two restarts I was no longer getting any issues.

Today I was playing a game and after about 30 minutes I got my third BSOD UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP 7f. I've uploaded the minidump file here:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d42F_5dt2XtDjOrWwjYt2nkfkg9dpuyN/view?usp=sharing

I'm not overly computer literate and would appreciate some help getting to the bottom of the issue.

    Thanks,

    James

    :)

  2. Windows 10. 12 to 24 hours

    Hi Sandra,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

To change the time format from 12 hour to 24 hour in Windows 10.

    Follow the steps:

    • Navigate to Control panel.
    • In the category view of the control panel, click on the
‘Change date, time, or number formats’.
    • Change the short time to HH:mm from the drop down.
    • Press Apply to make the changes.
    • Now your time format will change to 24 hour format.
Hope this helps, let us know if you need further assistance.

  3. Multiple BSOD in last 24 hours

I've received several BSODs in the last 24 hours.

I'm not sure if an automatic update could be a cause.

Sometimes, my laptop will remain stable for up to 30 minutes, other times I can't get past the log in screen.

The BSODs that I've received are:

    • PFN LIST CORRUPT
    • IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
    • SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION
    • PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA (FLTMGR.SYS)
    • FAST RESOURCE PRECONDITION VIOLATION
    • SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED (FLTMGR.SYS)
    • KERNEL AUTO BOOT LOCK ACQUISITION WITH RAISED IRQL
    • REFERENCE BY POINTER
    • INVALID PROCESS DETATCH ATTEMPT
    • SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION
    • DRIVER OVERRAN STACK BUFFER
    • KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
    • RESOURCE NOT OWNED
    • KERNEL MODE HEAP CORRUPTION
Is my best option to reinstall Win 10?

Running on a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series.

    Thank you.

    Paul

  4. BSOD three times in last 24 hours

changing the clock to 24 hour mode on desktop

Many thanks & it has worked for the time setting on the task bar but the time that appears on the desktop when the laptop is switched on ie. before you activate your pin access, still remains in 12 hour format.
