    Hi there,

I would like to ask for some help identifying the cause of my frequent BSOD on Windows 10.

The BSOD error text is usually one of the following:

    ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

The BSOD mostly occur when gaming (Guild Wars 2) or browsing the web, once or twice a day.

Initially I had the same frequent errors on a windows 7 install on the same machine. So I tried installing Windows 10 on a new hard drive on the same machine and the BSOD persisted on the new OS and harddrive. So it seems to be likely a hardware fault or hardware driver related fault.

Windows memory diagnostic passes. I tried running driver verifier and got a crash after a few hours while gaming with browser open.

Temperatures on all measurable components seems healthy as per component manufacturer guidelines and no overclock active at present.

Hopefully someone out there can give an insight or recommend a next step before I start replacing components.

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    New FF - passwords

    Hi:

If that setting is already enabled, then I suggest as the next troubleshooting step might be Mozilla Safe Mode (not to be confused with Windows Safe Mode)):

Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode | Firefox Help

    • Please report back and let us know the outcome, as it will dictate the next steps.
    • Also: please tell us what AV/AM/firewall programs are you running on this system?

    Thanks,
    MM
