Windows 10: BSOD Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap caused by driver hal.dll

I've been getting this error sporadically in the last couple of months. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is there a Fully Up-to-Date download of Windows 10 available?

Unfortunately, there is no driver name on the BSOD, it just says "Stop Code: UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE TRAP". I checked the C: drive and there are no hidden files named Setupmem.dmp. Would this file only be there immediately after rebooting from the BSOD?

 

Windows 10 crashes at least once a day.

My system crashes at least once a day. BSOD. Seldom for same reason. Latest is " unexpected kernel mode trap" What failed "athw8x.sys"

There are also many, many references to a corrected hardware fault reported by the CPU but this is probably a separate issue.
