    BSOD waking up from sleep after fresh install of Windows 10 1803


    After reformatting my existing drive and installing Windows 10 Professional (1803 - April Update), my desktop started turning off almost immediately after waking from sleep. Before turning off, there must have been a BSOD because there was a minidump created. The desktop was not having this issue before I reformatted and installed Windows 10 fresh. The crashes/BSODs are easily recreatable.

    An interesting point... after the BSOD and the desktop turns off, upon next power on, it would wake from sleep without crashing "forever." However, upon a subsequent reboot after previously waking successfully, it would start crashing again.

    The attached file is the requested information in the BSOD posting instructions with my system info and two dump files. These were created after installing Windows and the available Windows Updates with no other software installed. In my own debugging, I also ran Memtest86+ 5.01 for 8 passes without any errors found.

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD in Windows 10 after wake up from sleep

    I have this issue with BSOD on my computer whenever my system wakes up from sleep. It usually happen after awhile after wakes up from sleep (sometimes within half an hour or hours of used). If I never sleep my system (meaning always start from fresh restart),
    no issue with BSOD.

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

    I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

    If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.
