I've retried it a few times and keep getting the IRQ error in the image above... which I think is a driver issue, but I have no idea what it could be. Any help is appreciated.

Edit: I also attached my System Event Viewer logs because the dump files don't seem to have been created by the BSOD during the update.

    :)

  2. Anniversary update BSOD Error-System Thread Exception Not Handled (Nvlddmkm.sys)

    Original Title : Windows 10 1607 BSOD

    Hello everyone,

After installing Windows 10 Anniversary Update my computer started to get BSOD (System Thread Exception Not Handled) (Nvlddmkm.sys), ONLY, when installing updates from WU and when booting in safe mode.

Never got a BSOD or a dump. Windows updated to the anniversary version of 10 and the error occurred on bootup. Never got into Windows.

  5. I'm not sure what I'm missing. My dump files made by the program is there, is there something else I am missing?

I missed that part, light-blue links are a bit difficult to see around a blue image.

Please (re)move some files to increase the free space to at least 15%.
Every partition needs at least 10-15% free space so Windows can do its thing in the background, 15% is to be on the safe side.

BSOD When Updating to Windows 10 Anniversary [IMG]
Warning Less free space could cause BSODs or other problems, because Windows cannot perform the tasks it needs to do in the background!

What actions have you performed to resolve the bad blocks and I/O operation retry problems?
I ask, because as I currently see it there may be problems with your file system because the crash dump initialization failed (no dump file created)

  7. What actions have you performed to resolve the bad blocks and I/O operation retry problems?
I ask, because as I currently see it there may be problems with your file system because the crash dump initialization failed (no dump file created) I didn't even know there were problems with my storage. I just installed a new SSD, which I cloned from my old one, and I have 200 gigs free on that drive. My storage drive is a bit full, it's a 2TB with 100gb free, but the system doesn't need the storage drive for any reason does it?

Should I run chkdsk on the SSD?

    Thanks.

Run chkdsk through admin command prompt on all partitions shown in Windows Explorer with /r parameter, for example
    chkdsk X: /r

  9. Hi again, I ran chkdsk and there were no errors on either drive... what else can I try?

  11. Sure, my boot drive:
    My storage drive:
Nothing major other than the unused index entries.

    Thanks.

  13. BSOD When Updating to Windows 10 Anniversary

I just tried it again and it failed at around the same point (71%). I'll try uploading the event logs again.

Edit: oh, since I used a USB install this time, I got an error code when I got back into Windows itself:
    0xC1900101 - 0x3000D
The Installation failed first in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation.

    DRIVER VERIFIER

BSOD When Updating to Windows 10 Anniversary [IMG]
Warning Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
    Please create a restore point.
Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

BSOD When Updating to Windows 10 Anniversary [IMG]
Note Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.
