BSOD when using google Chrome and playing CS:GO

    Hi,

My desktop had problem with BSOD since when I built it. I have purchased two second hand parts which are CPU and motherboard. Rest of the parts I have purchased them from a shop. First, I started having problem with my PSU. My desktop would shutdown instantly and on the BIOS "Anti Surge" message was shown. I did research and found out it was due to faulty PSU. Replaced the PSU and it never happened. Then I replaced my old RAM with new Corsair 8gb one stick. I believe since then I started having BSOD. It mostly happened when I steam video or content from Chrome or when I play video games such as CS:GO and Dota2. I thought it was due to OS and installed fresh copy of Windows 10. But problem still exists.

Things I have done so far:
    - Ran MEMTEST till Pass 7 and no errors were found
    - Ran Intel Processor Diagnostics Tool and no errors were found
    - Monitored temp of all the components at idle state and during the video game period. Temp was fairly low.
    - Ran SSD health check and it said it was in Excellent condition.

One thing I should point out is that my ethernet driver has issues. When I enable my Ethernet it connect and instantly disconnects within every 1-2 sec repeatedly. I have done research on that fixed it by changing the Speed and Duplex value to 10mbps/ half duplex. Now I can use my Ethernet without any problem. But I do understand it is not fixing hardware wise problem, if there is.

    Please help me! Thank you!

    :)

  2. Blue screen of death when playing cs go 4:3

    Hi Evan,

Blue screen errors may occur due to a system failure or a hardware issue on your PC. Since the issue started after an update, there are possibilities that some of the drivers on your computer are outdated. To resolve your concern, we suggest that you update
the graphics card drivers by following the steps below:

    • Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
    • Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver. For graphics cards, expand the Display adapters category, right-click your graphics card
      and select Update Driver.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
    • If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

If you are still getting a blue screen error, you may visit this
    link
    and follow the provided solutions.

Should you need further assistance, you can reply to this thread anytime.

BSOD when using google Chrome and playing CS:GO

    Hi Benny,

    Welcome to the 10forums.

First note, Memtest needs to run for at least 8 passes, or until an error is found. Running memtest less then 8 passes isn't worth doing it.
    So, please run Memtest again.

Please fill in your system specsPlease go to this site and download the tool. The tool will give you detailed information about your system specs, please fill in your system specs more completely. How to fill in your system specs:

    Hi axe0,

Thank you for your instant reply. I have updated my system spec. Will ran MEMTEST again till pass8,9 tonight. And will let you know the result. Could you please analyze my dump file and give me your opinion.

    Thank you so much!

I'll analyse the dump files when I get home from school.
A quick look at some resulting in a 0x124 WHEA (Windows Hardware Error Architecture).
This error is 1 of the worst to debug, because usually they don't give specific information.
For now check your BIOS and make sure you're not overclocking and make sure your drivers are up to date.
Mostly the 0x124 error is caused by overclocking and driver problems.

Thank you! I have checked my BIOS setting and set everything to default settings. But there are options that I am not sure about. In ASUS BIOS there is AI Tweaker and values have options that I am not sure if its overclocking or not. But I believe setting everything back to default means no overclocking. Am I right?

BIOS is up to date. As for the driver, I have tried to install the official ASUS website drivers, updated from Windows driver update option, and also ran Intel driver update tool and it updated my WIFI and Bluetooth driver.

I managed to run two tests today.
    1. Ran memtest86+ for 13hours till Pass: 9 and no errors were found.
    2. Ran FurMark for 32 minutes and no screen tearing or other problems were found. GPU temp went up to 74 celcius and did not go up from there. But for the FurMark I did not really understand what I was supposed to look for during the test. It said Artifact, and I was looking for unusual occurrence within the graphic image. Did not find anything.

Tomorrow I will run CPU stress test and SDD chkdsk. And will report you back.

    Thank you!

I see you have running driver verifier.
    Please reset driver verifier.

The past 2 days there were only 0x124 WHEA (Windows Hardware Error Architecture).
That says you're hardware is likely damaged, but it could also be caused by overclocking and drivers.
Because driver verifier was enabled every time and in the stack I saw the following (marked in red)
    Code: STACK_TEXT: ffffd000`4c8b86f8 fffff803`6f64694f : 00000000`00000124 00000000`00000000 ffffe000`254f4028 00000000`b2000000 : nt!KeBugCheckEx ffffd000`4c8b8700 fffff803`6f8d50e0 : ffffe000`254f4028 ffffe000`2445d400 ffffe000`2445d400 ffffe000`2445d400 : hal!HalBugCheckSystem+0xcf ffffd000`4c8b8740 fffff803`6f646e3c : 00000000`00000728 00000000`00000003 ffffd000`4c8b8b30 00000000`00000000 : nt!WheaReportHwError+0x258 ffffd000`4c8b87a0 fffff803`6f64719c : ffffe000`00000010 ffffe000`2445d400 ffffd000`4c8b8948 ffffe000`2445d400 : hal!HalpMcaReportError+0x50 ffffd000`4c8b88f0 fffff803`6f647088 : ffffe000`2445cd50 00000000`00000001 00000000`00000003 00000000`00000000 : hal!HalpMceHandlerCore+0xe8 ffffd000`4c8b8940 fffff803`6f6472c6 : 00000000`00000008 00000000`00000001 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : hal!HalpMceHandler+0xe4 ffffd000`4c8b8980 fffff803`6f647450 : ffffe000`2445cd50 ffffd000`4c8b8bb0 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : hal!HalpMceHandlerWithRendezvous+0xce ffffd000`4c8b89b0 fffff803`6f7d9b7b : 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : hal!HalHandleMcheck+0x40 ffffd000`4c8b89e0 fffff803`6f7d9931 : 00000000`00000000 fffff803`6f7d98b0 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : nt!KxMcheckAbort+0x7b ffffd000`4c8b8b20 fffff801`a6af2778 : 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : nt!KiMcheckAbort+0x171 ffffd000`4c8db858 00000000`00000000 : 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : intelppm!MWaitIdle+0x18 (driver from your CPU)[/quote] The cause is most likely the driver from your CPU.
