Windows 10: BSOD when waking from sleep

Hi

I have had this problem for some months now. While I can put the computer to sleep, each time I wake it up it causes a BSOD. I have followed many threads about this. some suggesting it is video driver problem. So I uninstalled and reinstalled my Nvidia driver but the problem continues. I have today installed the Creators update and I thought that maybe this would solve my problem but no luck.

I have temporarily disabled computer sleep for now but I would like to activate it if possible. Thanks in advance.

Only one dump. Are you using a program like CCleaner? If so, stop until this is resolved as it deletes dumps unless you set it up not to.

See if there is a newer version available. The one you have is dated 6/3/2015 5:38:57 AM. The Intel web site has one dated 4/13/2017.

I checked the Asus website for my mobo and it still indicates the driver that I have loaded for my mobo. I think I will check with Asus tomorrow before I do anything. The problem only occurs when the computer wakes from sleep so it is not a big deal to wait a bit. I will post results.

 

OK, I seem to have solved this. What I did was uninstall Intel's IRST program. This also removed IASTORA.sys. Then I tried to sleep and wake the computer, and it worked fine. Then I reinstalled the same version. Although it's old, it is the one that is on the ASUS X99-A website. The computer still wakes up from sleep no problem. I am not sure what exactly fixed the problem but often uninstalling and reinstalling software tends to fix problems.

I looked on the Microsoft community website and there are quite a number of posts dealing with IASTORA.sys but I could not find specific help. So I am marking this as solved.

I ended up uninstalling IRST. Both the one provided by my mobo manufacturer and the latest one on the intel site gave me periodic BSOD's. I don't really need the extra speed that irst provides and run AHCI not RAID.
