BSOD when waking up from sleep, KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE

Most of the time when I wake up from sleep I get a BSOD with the error: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. I do not know what is causing this problem. I have a few things plugged into my computer via USB.

Frequent BSOD: Kernal Security Check Failure upon wake from sleep. Verifier DMP Files included

    OneDrive Link:

    BSOD.zip

I keep getting frequent BSODs for IRQL Not Less or Equal and also for Kernel Security Check Failure. The dmp files from the driver verifier are in the one drive link along with the data from msinfo32 and system specs from Speccy.

All drivers are up to date as best as I can tell. I turned off all non-Microsoft services in msconfig and that stopped all the IRQL BSODs for a week or two, then they started again. The crashes almost always happen upon waking the computer up from sleep mode.

How to fix Kernel Security Check Failure?

I don't get BSOD. When I boot up normally, I go to the login screen then immediately receive the BSOD (Kernel Security Failure).

Hello and welcome to TenForums *Smile

There are no memory dump files in the zip file you created. However your event log shows that a memory.dmp file should have been created.

Code: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffff9b0588400028, 0x00000000ba000000, 0x0000000052000402). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 66a82af4-37f6-4f6e-8405-d0e2b2e2e3ce.[/quote] If you can find this and make it available to us (via dropbox or onedrive, etc) we might be able to provide more information. Bugcheck 124 usually refers to a hardware error but it can also be triggered by software or overclocking so it is not an easy one to diagnose. If you have not already done so I would start with a memory check such as Memtest86+ and run for the full 8 or more passes (takes 1-2 days for your system)

Thanks for sharing this file but when I tried to open it, it reports that it is partially corrupt and so I was not able to get much information from it.

The bugcheck code was 139 which is the Kernal Securuty Check Failure you saw. The 124 code reported in your eventlog did not show up so it must have been overwritten. I guess we need to wait for a new BSOD and let you post a new zip file.

I got the BSOD again when I woke my computer from sleep. When I woke it up it started playing the video I was watching before I put it to sleep. Here is my memory dump file and logs.

    Dropbox - MEMORY.DMP

I'm getting "Corrupt_modulelist" from memory.dmp, it looks like something is wrong with your crashdump, do you have any minidumps available? Often these are corrupted when hardware failure is the cause of the crash.

Please run memtest86+ and let us know if you find an memory errors, also disconnect all non-essential devices (usb, and pci cards) to help us pinpoint the cause of your system crashes. Did this ever happen when you were not using SLI?

Update your intel chipset drivers. Use the Samsung Magician to ensure your Samsung 850 is at the latest firmware level. I do not see the model of your Asus motherboard listed, but verify that is also running the latest firmware.

I noticed you are running a Windows Insider Preview build (14986), these are not considered stable "production ready" builds, go back to the current mainline build, 14393.
