    BSOD while using uTorrent

    Hello people,

Every time I use uTorrent, I get a BSOD saying "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED". This happens ONLY when I use uTorrent. According to Ma-Config (Ma-Config), all my drivers are up to date. I have checked the dmp file with BlueScreenView, however that points to a fault with my WIFI driver.. Strange thing is, that like I said, Ma-Config says that my wifi drivers are up to date.

    Here's the zip file:

    BSOD while using uTorrent

Wherefrom you got the wireless driver? Windows update, or that link you posted?
    It is ....
Code: Image name: bcmwl63a.sys Browse all global symbols functions data Timestamp: Tue Nov 24 04:26:21 2015 (56539995)[/quote] Try with the driver that is listed with Dell?
    Attachment 68091

Check here: Product Support | Dell US

    • Download the driver.
    • Uninstall the installed driver in device manager.
    • Install the downloaded driver.
See how it goes. Let us know.

First of all, Thank you for your reply.

I uninstalled the driver and installed the driver from the dell website like you said, rebooted and tried again.. The BSOD still occurs when I use uTorrent. To clarify, it does only happen when my laptop is on WIFI, on LAN it works completely fine, so definitely pointing towards the WIFI driver still.

Also added a new zip file with all the information about last crash.

The Dell Wireless 1560 802.11ac is still causing the BSOD.
Code: BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff801e1a00c7a, ffffd00022efb6d8, ffffd00022efaef0} Probably caused by : bcmwl63a.sys ( bcmwl63a+150c7a ) Followup: MachineOwner ---------[/quote] And it is still the November driver (in the crash dump of 09/03/2016).
Code: Image name: bcmwl63a.sys Browse all global symbols functions data Timestamp: Tue Nov 24 04:26:21 2015 (56539995)[/quote] You need to use the September driver, as suggested in post #2.

Previously I uninstalled the driver like you said, via the device manager and then installed the driver from dell. Apparently this has not worked correctly. Today I removed the driver via Programs and Features and took screenshots just to show that the driver has actually been uninstalled and reinstalled. For more information, see the screenshots below.

Here you can see that the driver has been uninstalled, no options for WIFI are available anymore, neither is there an WIFI adapter.

I downloaded the exact driver which you told me to again.
    Attachment 68497

And installed it, please note that here in the start of the installation, it says August 19, 2015 for a date(?).
    Attachment 68498

    Driver has been successfully installed.
    Attachment 68499

Here is the install log from the driver.
    Attachment 68501

I rebooted my laptop and started uTorrent over WIFI again, after about 2 minutes my laptop BSOD'd again with this time the following error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Because I've had this BSOD error before, my page file was already altered (which should have fixed this specific error)
    Attachment 68503

Below again the dm_log with most recent BSOD.
    Attachment 68504

I hope this information is suffice, if any more information is needed, I'd be happy to oblige. Thanks for the help so far *Smile

    BSOD while using uTorrent

    Yes, same crash.
Code: BugCheck 50, {fffff6fb400037a8, 0, 0, 6} *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for bcmwl63a.sys *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for bcmwl63a.sys Could not read faulting driver name Probably caused by : bcmwl63a.sys ( bcmwl63a+8e64f ) Followup: MachineOwner ---------[/quote] Code: Image name: bcmwl63a.sys Browse all global symbols functions data Timestamp: Sat Jul 11 06:39:43 2015 (55A06CD7)[/quote] And definitely a different driver version.

So it can be said with certainty that it is not a particular driver version that is causing the BSOD.

I checked the dumps to the deepest in seh for anything that me causing the wifi crash. Nothing found. None of the dumps are saying that it is uTorrent.exe which is the process running in the background during the BSODS, too.
Code: PROCESS_NAME: System[/quote] THose are identified as general system crashes.

You may try one thing here. Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto-start with it; but they can conflict which may cause various issues including randm crashes including BSODs.

    • Right click on the taskbar and click on "Task Manager" in the context menu.
    • It will open Task Manager with "Processes" tab selected. Click on the "Startup" tab.
    • Select them all one by one (other than your antivirus and SynTPEnh, the touchpad driver) and click "Disable" at the bottom right corner.
    • Disable everything there other than the antivirus.
See how it goes. Let us know.
