Windows 10: BSODs at random times atikmdag.sys THREAD STUCK IN DEVICE DRIVER

It actually happened to me again once in catalyst, I think something inside is faulty.

 

I got a replacement card, but the problem still occurs.

Is the new GPU seated in the same slot or in a different slot?

 

Same slot.

 

Seat the GPU into a different slot, if the issue is persistent then there are 2/3 options left (excluding software).

 

I've put it into the bottom slot, and I have also used a different power cable slot on the PSU (VGA2 instead of VGA1). I haven't had much time to fully test if it is working though as the crashes happen randomly and unpredictably.

 

Take the time it requires to test

 

There are some older drivers on your system. That doesn't mean they are bad but you may want to check them out..

Network drivers and Logitech drivers mainly, wouldn't be too worried about them now but it is something to update after this problem is resolved *Smile

Thanks for the quick reply *Smile I used it again for around 15 minutes and there was a BSOD again. What shall I do?

EDIT: It happened again. Same BSOD

 

Either the RAM, mobo or PSU would be a likely cause. The CPU would be, in rare occasions.

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

Sorry for being quite late to do this (I have been very busy with college). I am currently running the MemTest and it's been almost 7 hours and I am on my 7th pass with no errors. I will post a picture when it gets to 8 passes.

Do you have a multimeter to test the PSU?
