*Tongue Just kidding. Yes, I am aware of that possibility. However, depending on what build is released on the 29th. I may do the upgrade in August like all other consumers will. I was just doing this for testing purposes. I am a tester.

What would be really ironic is if you opted out, you don't get offered the official final release at all, and get left on 10240 forever. Or it times out, whichever comes first lol.

I should have qualified 'users' to be non-Insiders. 20 August was sort of a tease anyway - but I'll wager the ambiguity of MS (again to non-Insiders, but even in some cases to Insiders) will tick off people expecting to upgrade on 29 July.

My goodness - look how fickle people were about an icon on the taskbar when Win8 came out.

  9. Hopefully? I have one PC running Windows 10 10240, and three others with the Windows 10 reserved via the GWX App. Insiders running 10 are first as far as I know. Then Reserved. Then the rest that want it. I'll get keys and ISO's via MSDN, well I assume I will. I want to go through the motions anyway so I can see it first hand instead of relying on what other post. I should be able to better help others that way.

Well, if MS can get the servers set up correctly and things go well in the beginning it should hit the masses fast. This is going to be a 24 hour 7 day a week thing.. so I think it's going to go fast.

  11. lol, yeah, I saw a few "How dare they *Mad " posts when the get Windows 10 icon showed up in the taskbar notifications area..

  12. Yeah, well if build 10240 is an almost there RTM build, all that may be needed is one small update to make it the official consumer release. No big whole new build download. The missing watermark and no detectable expiry date leans me to that conclusion. If I'm right it will be a quick update for insiders to go to the final release. That leaves all the unused bandwidth for those that reserved their update. They could be feeding those system as I write this post if 10240 is it. If I'm right again, it will be quick for them too, depending on how much their PC's are on and connected to the internet. Time keeps on ticking, ticking into the future. *Smile
