Windows 10: Built in camera on EGL laptop gives a very dark image display

The camera on my laptop gives a very dark, not well focused and grainy image. Using it for zoom or other video apps is awful. I have checked the drivers, it says they are up to date. I have tried changing the brightness settings. This is happening with a well lit background. The app sys sunplusIT inc, I have looked at their website but can't get any troubleshooting on dark images that is helping. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

built in camera on the laptop

I am unable to use the built-in camera on my laptop. I looked at the replies to questions similar to mine and one exactly like mine. I have gone to device manager several times and no camera is listed, thee audio is listed but no camera. I cannot update
software drivers or make software compatible(I have windows10) because there is no app or device listed. What can i do?

 

Images Dark and Can't Adjust

The last I used the camera application (many months ago) with the built-in front camera on my Asus T100TAM, I don't recall any issues. I unsuccessfully tried to install drivers for an old third-party USB camera. I never got the USB camera to work. But
now the built-in camera images are very dark. Manually adjusting the exposure settings has no impact. Also, all other applications that use the built-in camera, such as ContaCam, Skype, and Join.Me, have dark images. Yet I can attach a modern USB webcam
and the images appear with proper exposure.



I went to Device Manager and deleted all the imaging and sensors devices, and their drivers. I rebooted and then went back to each device and updated the drivers. No impact. Images are still dark.

I would very much like to have the built-in camera working, but I have no idea what to do next for a repair.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for updating us on the results of the troubleshooting steps that you have completed. Since the built-in webcam is still not working correctly and the same error code 0xA00F4244 (0xC00DABED) is still appearing, we suggest that we check the camera privacy
settings to see if the camera access is turned on. Kindly follow the steps below to check the camera privacy settings:

• Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
• Near the top of the Settings app window is the search box, kindly type the word "webcam" or "camera".
• From the list of results choose Camera privacy settings.
• Make sure that "Let apps use my camera" toggle is set to On.
