Windows 10: C drive corrupted

Help! Well trying to dual boot, I think I really screwed up. My computer is now stuck in a Windows recovery boot loop. I've tried pretty much everything I could find online, with no luck. I saw this one trick where you go to advanced options, command prompt, enter notepad, then try to open a file. To my surprise, it was letting me browse my files. However, the c drive does not have a blue bar under it indicating how much space is left. When I try to click on it, it says you must format this a drive to use it. I do not want to format the drive.if I do format it, is there a way I could install Windows and then immediately open some fire recovery software and get someone by files back? Is it possible to plug in an external hard drive and copy everything to it? Would that help at all? On a related note, what is some software that you recommend that makes routine backups to avoid this mess (preferably free)? Thanks!

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows +E,
  
• 
  Right click on C: drive.
  
• 
  Select Sharing Tab.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced Sharing.
  
• 
  Uncheck “Share this folder”.

I've already done your suggestions....... yep, need a bigger drive for C: suppose!
