Windows 10: Camera and mic won't work on Dell inspiron 15-7579

I first had this issue within 1 year of buying this laptop, but was able to contact Dell for a fix to the problem as the computer was still under warranty. Within 6 months of fixing the issue, the camera and mic stopped working again, even after installing all the correct drivers and giving permission to use the camera and mic all the apps on my computer. This is a bit frustrating since I bought a Dell because of the quality of the product, and now I can't seem to use some of the most important features on the computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brand new Dell Inspiron 15 7579 with Windows.old folder on it

I purchased a brand new Dell Inspiron 15 7579 laptop a week ago and I was I surprised when I looked at the C drive and found a "Windows.old" folder in it that is taking about 15 GB of space. Isn't this
folder only supposed to be there if there was an upgrade from windows 8 to windows 10? Or if a factory reset was made, correct? I contacted dell and they said that a new laptop should not have a windows.old folder in it. I also contacted the retailer that
sold me the laptop and they said that this is normal since Windows 10 did an update right out the box to Windows 10 creator, the newest version of windows 10.

Is this a normal scenario or should I exchange my laptop for a different one? Thank you.

 

Earphones Mic not working

As per Dell support website, 6.0.1.8142 is the latest one with Release date of 13th June, 2017. You think it will work well with the newer build of Windows 10?

Edit: I just installed the driver listed on Dell's website after removing the previous one and still the mic isn't working.

If a headphone is connected the normal behavior should be to use headphones mic and disable internal one but in my case it doesn't disable the internal one. Am I missing something here?
