  1. Camera Hack?

My son recently joined an online school tutorial. To begin with, he was required to test his connection for the camera, audio, microphone. He is using the most updated OS, however the camera failed which subsequently stopped him from joining. When we contacted the company running the system their hack was to shine a light into the camera which fixed the problem. How is this so?

    :)
