Windows 10: Can connect to Internet but Windows reports "No Internet Access"

As today I resumed my PC from hibernation, the network icon in taskbar reports with yellow exclamation mark. In Network and Sharing Center it reports no Internet access via Ethernet, and Private Network. However, Network Adapter shows clearly Ethernet is running normal "Network", not something like "network cable unplugged".







I've tried multiple times resetting network, disable and enable adapter, uninstall driver and update to latest version as instructed on Microsoft's support page.


For now, I can do most of my job without problem accessing Internet via browsers (Microsoft Edge and Chromium Edge both works fine and is where I am currently writing this post from), Onedrive, and other softwares, but since Windows keeps reporting "no access", I cannot connect in Office apps, UWP apps, except for Windows Update and Microsoft Store. I can't even log in to Feedback Hub right now!





Unable to access Office apps is really causing me real trouble.

PC was updated from Windows 7 a few days ago. Doesn't really seem like a hardware or driver issue since I've used it pretty well for days.

1. Open Admin command and type: ipconfig
   
   
   
2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
   Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
   NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank
   
   
   

 

Is it possible to share internet connection via remote desktop?

RDP is not capable of Internet sharing, so you can't share Internet using RDP with standard applications. There are many way to share Internet from a Windows box to another one. I suggest you to use VPN. You should do following steps:

1. Run VPN Server on your server with unlimited internet access
   
2. Connect to VPN server from your limited computer

I would suggest you to perform an Internet troubleshooter by following the steps below.

• Click on start and type ‘troubleshooting’ and press enter.
• Click on ‘View all’ on top left corner.
• Select ‘Internet Connections’ in the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.

Also, check if the issue persists by connecting to a different network.
