Can I Delete More Stuff from My Computer??

I already used disk cleanup to clean up my computer of junk. But is it possible to delete even more unnecessary files? I heard that after installing Win 10 that there are some installation files that can be further deleted. Do let me know.

    :)

  2. how can i delete all my stuff off here?

When you select all the messages on a page - e.g. by clicking the checkbox above the "From" column - a message will appear above the text message list saying:

All text messages on this page are selected. Select all text messages (Inbox, Drafts, Sent).

You can the select all text messages (or any other content type) from your account and delete them.

Yes, leftover installation files and logs, error reports, dump-files, earlier updates that have been superseded and previous restore points can all be deleted using Disk Clean-Up - but only if you click its 'Clean up system files' button.

To delete all but the latest restore point, look on the 'More options' tab in Disk Clean-Up. This can release several GB of used space.

Depending on what Disk Clean-Up finds, you may see 'windows update clean-up' and 'previous versions of windows' (if you've just done an upgrade) listed. These will not be ticked by default. You have to deliberately select them. Note that if you delete the old windows version you won't be able to roll back any more.

The caches for Edge and IE will be cleaned up under 'temporary internet files', but if you use other browsers it can't clean them. You have to go into the browser itself and use its own options to clear its cache.

Ok, I already ticked all the item in Dick Cleanup and deleted them. But you said if I delete the 'old windows version' that I can no longer use restore points. Since I deleted everything does that mean I no longer restore my computer? If so how can I get it back? Its important that I use restore points.

No. The 'old windows version' (if you have that listed) would be a backup of your old system made during an upgrade (such as installing the Anniversary Update). Deleting it removes the option to go back to a previous build. Windows should have deleted this automatically 30 days (10 for the AU) after the upgrade. Sometimes this doesn't happen and you have to delete it yourself with a clean-up. This is quite separate from restore points.

If you also delete 'all but the latest restore point' you will still have the latest one to go back to, and you are still free to create more restore points (as is Windows when it installs cumulative updates).

In addition to the above, I also use Tree Size Free to check the size of folders and delete user folders I don't need and review the size of installed programs.

Also, review /delete the files in each users's appdata\local\temp folder and the c:\windows\temp folder.

Many on the forum use ccleaner in addition to Disk Cleanup.

You could also install Revo Uninstaller or a program that does same thing to uninstall any programs that came with computer and you don't need. It will also clean up all the leftovers normal uninstall leaves behind.
I also use UnCleaner - Josh Cell Softwares as a very safe post uninstall or general cleanup tool. Occasionally it gets rid of hundreds of MB other programs don't find.
There's also CCleaner to get rid of accumulated downloaded and cached internet pages which can also take hundreds of MB depending on browser settings.
