Windows 10: Can I delete or disable the photos app?

I would like to delete or disable the photos app because it is totally useless. I want to look at my pictures from all my pictures folders. If I delete or disable the photos app, I assume I won't lose any pictures. I can't stand this ridiculous app preparing albums for me. I'll set up my own damn albums. Thank you very much. This app is awful. If I delete it or disable it and then some things don't work right, can it be re-installed or re-enabled?

How to disable/uninstall the Photo app in Windows 10?

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps below to uninstall the Photo app and check if it helps.

We cannot disable Photos app on windows 10. However, we can uninstall the app and when you require the app you can download it through Windows Store.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to uninstall the Photo app.

• 
  Type Power Shell in the Search bar,
  right-click on Windows PowerShell and click on
  Run as administrator.
  
• 
  Type the following commands, press Enter
  key after each command, in the given order.
  

1. Get-AppxPackage

(This will view all the apps installed in your account.)

2. Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers

(This will view all Windows apps installed in the computer.)

3. Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Remove-AppxPackage

(This will remove/uninstall the Photo app.)

• Restart the system and check.

We suggest that you follow the steps below to delete the photo through Photos app:

• If you’re looking at your list of photos in Photos app, select the photos by clicking on checkbox on the photos you want to delete. Click
  Delete icon at the bottom right corner to delete.
• If you open a photo, Tap or press Delete
  key from keyboard.

If you are referring to Photo app, follow the below steps and check.

[*]1. In the Photos app, go to the folder with the files you want to delete.
[*]2. Do one of the following:

• If you’re looking at your list of photos and videos, swipe down on or right-click the files you want to delete. You can also tap or click
  Select all.
  
• If you open a photo or video, swipe up from the bottom or right-click to see the app commands.
  

3. Tap or click
Delete.

You can also delete photos using the Camera app, the OneDrive app, or File Explorer.

The above steps are the only way to delete the photos.
