Windows 10: Can I use the developer mode if my windows cannot update?

Hello dear friends,

One of the software I downloaded to my PC- it had disabled my windows defender some how (defender was deleted, no more service of windows defender in my services list, and the windows security page is blank - written there "no providers").

Now my windows update won't update I guess becau.

I need to use for installation of a software the "developer mode", but when I am choosing developer option - it stuck on the "searching packages for developer mode" and after time in the end it brings up - "developer mode is on with an error - 0x80080005 "

Can I use the developer mode if my windows not updated?


Can I update my windows if I am not using the windows defender?

How to enable developer mode in Windows 10

For now, I suggest that you perform the steps below to enable Developer Mode via Group Policy and check.

1. Open Group Policy Editor and navigate to the following setting:

Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App Package Deployment

• Allow all trusted apps to install
• Allows development of Windows Store apps and installing them from an integrated development environment (IDE

What is Windows Developer Mode?

What is Windows Developer Mode and why is it preventing 1809 install attempts from completing successfully? I have been struggling with getting one of my HP Spectre x360 notebooks to update since 1809 was released (post #398). Today I discovered a post in the HP User Community about a failure mechanism that closely resembled mine. As suggested in the post I uninstalled the Windows Developer Mode option application and reran the 1809 update from the latest ISO (which had failed just yesterday.) The update now completed successfully with version 17763.316. I am not sure how this Developer Mode got installed or enabled, but it has to have been there for some time and through several updates without protesting.

I suggest you to start the computer in Safe mode from the Windows Recovery Environment.

Please refer the below link to start the computer in Safe mode and check if it fixes the issue:

Once you have entered into the Safe mode then, open Command Prompt and enable Built in Administrator.

Follow the below steps to enable Built in Administrator:

• Open Command Prompt from Windows Recovery Environment.
• Copy and paste the below command and press Enter.

net user administrator /active:yes

3. Close the Command Prompt.

4. Try to login though Built in Administrator and change the earlier password or you can create new user account.
