Can no longer connect to localhost

I've been using WAMP software for 10 to 15 years and have never encountered any problems. Out of the blue, my local wordpress sites running on AMPPS no longer work with following message in FF.
    The connection has timed out
The server at 192.168.1.63 is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computers network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Nothing has changed on my system. I run Windows 10 Update on demand, I have not installed anything recently etc.
However just before this happened something unusual, at least for me, happened. I lost my internet connection suddenly. After rebooting the modem, the router, and the PC i still had the problem. I checked my tablet and saw wifi was fine. I checked the TV which is ethernet and Netflix was fine. I was able to access my PC from the tablet so I knew it wasn't a hardware issue. Then I did a Network reset from settings, rebooted, end of problem.
I have a strong feeling this is related to my AMPPS no longer working.
    Any suggestions? Thanks.
ver 2004, build 19041.330 - again, nothing changed in my environment except the network reset. and no, this is not a virus.

    - - - Updated - - -

Ok, so I figured out that the Network Reset changed my local IP. This is why AMPPS is looking for the wrong IP. I changed the IP back which fixed the problem but also broke all other internet connections. So need to figure out a way to restore the IP dynamically or change it with AMMPS because manually doing it didnt work.

    :)

  2. Failed to connect to localhost

    Hi Mike,

One of the possible reasons why you were unable to connect to the localhost
is because of the configuration set within the LAN (Local Area Network). To better assist you, we need the answers to the following questions:

    • Are you using a computer connected to a secured network or
      domain
      ?
    • Have you tried resetting your router to default?

In the meantime, we suggest running the Network troubleshooter
to find and fix issues with your internet connection. To do this, please follow the steps below:

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Network troubleshooter, and then select Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
    • Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

If that doesn’t fix your connection problem, try these things:

    • Reset the TCP/IP stack
    • Release the IP address
    • Renew the IP address
    • Flush and reset the DNS client resolver cache

To run these networking commands in a command prompt window

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Yes.
    • At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:
      • Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
      • Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
      • Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
      • Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
      • Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

We are looking forward to your response.

  3. Access localhost from another computer

Localhost, as the name suggests, points at the localhost. Use the hostname or IP from your computer on their PC's. ie something in the 192.168.x.x or 10.0.0.x range most likely.

Can no longer connect to localhost

Unable to connect to Cyberpower http://localhost:3052/agent/

Thanks @jimbo. I will work through your suggestions when I get a chance. I should note that when I installed PPBE around a week ago it was connecting to the UPS management pages and then it suddenly stopped with the connection errors. I can't recall fiddling with anything network related so this is kind of odd.

On a side note what does the 3052/agent/ part of localhost mean and how does that open the UPS management software in the browser?
