Windows 10: Can not get to latest windows 10 release after a factory reset

Windows 10 Home Version 1703 Build



Recently my windows 10 stopped working and I could not restore from backup, so I was forced to factory reset via the dell support assistant. This reset my computer back to Windows 10 Home Version 1703 Build, which I imagine is what was installed when I bought the laptop. I have tried to run the updates windows 10.0 kb4503289 x64 and windows 10.0 kb4567515 from the Microsoft catalogue kb4567515 said it was not compatible, and kb4567515 when all the went through the install procedure and after the restart said it could not complete and rolled the whole thing back. I also tried the windows update assistant which also failed and sent me to a Microsoft support page about SQL server and Microsoft Edge. Can anyone help

Factory Reset

Since you did a factory reset on your computer, possibly the outdated network adapter driver causes the connection issue. Just for clarification, did you install the updated network drivers? If not, we suggest that you update the Network adapter driver.

• Go to Device Manager, then click Network adapters and select the network adapter name.
• Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter, and then select
  Update Driver Software > Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select
  Close.
• After installing the updated driver, restart the computer.

If Windows can’t find a new driver for your network adapter, visit the PC manufacturer’s website and download the latest network adapter driver from there.

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
