Windows 10: Can Not open A Software......

Hello - it's me again. I have a software that I purchased that I am trying to open on my laptop. Everytime I try to open it I get an error message.When I contact the company, they tell me that I have to access the "Controlled Folder Access" file. But I can't seem to do that either. This file/folder does not show up on my system, and when I run a search for it, I get another error message.Now here is the odd thing. I have no IT administrator other than me, this is NOT a business, this IS my own personal computer, and I have NO helpdesk - other than you fine people in the community.So, ho

Problem in opening files through other softwares

If the issue is with an app which is installed from Store, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the app and check if that helps. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the app in which you are facing the issue and click
  Uninstall.
• Open the Windows Store.
• Search for the app and click on Install.
  
• Check if issue persists.

If the issue is with a software installed, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the program and check if that helps. Follow the steps below:

• Click on Programs and Features.
• Right click on the software in which you are facing the issue from the list and click on Uninstall.
• Restart the computer after its uninstalled.
• Now reinstall the program and check.

Can I customize the list of suggest apps in the "Open with" menu?

You can't use it to add additional programs, only to set default programs.

Interestingly for me it shows nothing for text files:








Then if I want to add a portable app like Jarte Plus to open with context menu windows doesn't like it.





It's not present and is near impossible to add even via "look for an app on this PC"
