Windows 10: Can not reinstall Windows 10

Greetings, to provide a summary:


My laptop is a Asus X551ca. I was experiencing problems with this gadget in April such as heat where the hard drive is and the fans blowing louder than usual. I was receiving a critical process died message and had to reinstall Windows 10 that improved my performance for a while. On Saturday September 5, my laptop randomly crash while browsing the web and was given a blue screen withwin32kfull.sys failed message. Since then, my laptop was stuck in an Automatic Repair loop that will go to a new error code,0xc000000e An unexpected error has occurred.


I performed a sfc/scannow and then a chkdsk /f /r c: but the scan would stop because of this message:


x:\windows\system32>chkdscciopijjn

chkdscciopijjn is not recognized as an internal or external commend program or batch file.


Startup Repair did not help, as the screen would not scan but loop for hours. I had a system restore file, but since my hard drive could not repair I tried to reinstall Windows. The first attempt installing caused erratic behavior I have not seen when reinstalling in April, which was freezing and my screen blinking and did not take me to the setup process. The laptop went to disk checkup which too would restart before finishing Stage 2. If I skipped the scan, I would go to a new code0xc00000e9 or the critical process died message again. I ran out of ideas, and only want to obtain my files before I am too late.

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
