Windows 10: Can not turn on Defender real time Win 10 ver1803

After updating to Win 1803 MS Defender real time is Grey out and not working ( I did get Defender to set to periodically check )and it has Malwarebytes as my antivirus . the ver. of Malwarebytes I have is the premium 3.4.5 it is only a Malware Ver. not the Antivirus Ver .
how do I turn MS Defender on real time and Malwarebytes
My other desktop has the same Win 1803 and Malwarebytes but Defender Real time is on and working and it is not grey out so I can turn it on or off and Malwarebytes is turn on and working ???????????

Error code 0x8050800c when updating?

The same thing happened to me. Unfortunately win 10 updated itself again and disabled my Avira antivirus and then I could not get Windows defender to turn on real time protection either.

I got the same error "Error code 0x8050800c when updating". I think I tried to update over 5 times before it finally decided to go through with the update.

Then I was able to update definitions but it would not turn on "real time protection" in the Window defender app window. kept saying "not available".

I finally got real time protection turned in by going into: settings > windows defender> and toggling the "real time protection" toggle/button on and off. Then it did turn on.

I would rather have Avira back but that is still disabled by the win 10 update and I have not been able to get it back.

 

Windows Defender

The Windows Defender in Windows 10 states that my "Real Time"protection is turned off. It is unable to turn it on. How can I turn on the Real Time Protection?

 

My Defender turned itself off after the installation of 1803. I was able to reactivate it by clicking Action Center on the Task Bar. It did turn on and stayed on. Note: I also have Malwarebytes Premium running with no problems.
