Windows 10: Can somebody please explain to me why Windows is trying to turn everything into a Google...

I have always been a Windows user but lately I'm just not sure what to do or where to go for a proper operating system anymore.With every new release Windows just gets more and more like Google Docs which is just so ridiculous because Google Docs has always been terrible.Their file structure makes finding anything and organizing files impossible.The absence of a save means you can't create iterations of documents but instead have to go into a ludicrously insane and unnavigable note like comment text box system.Now Windows has started retconning and removing elements, features and even complete

No, I can't. I have just followed the steps you described and the URL did not change. Win10 Pro, 1809, Firefox.

I suggest you try deleting that bad shortcut and creating a new shortcut directly on the Desktop.
