Windows 10: Can someone please tell me what the multiple desktop feature is for?

I'm new to it. Since you cant put different shortcuts or such on different desktops what is it for? -not being facetious, just want to know what it can do

Thank you for reaching out to us. Windows 10 has a feature to create multiple desktops that can have a wide range of apps. For us to help you with your concern and delete the second desktop, we suggest that you perform the steps below:

• On the taskbar, select the Task View icon.
• Desktop 1 and Desktop 2 will appear at the bottom of your screen.
• Hover your mouse at the Desktop that you'd like to delete. Click the
  red X icon at the top to delete the Desktop permanently.

Rename Desktops In Windows 10 Multiple Desktop Mode -- Feature Request

Hi there!

I am an engineer. My job often requires me to run several applications at the same time. Keeping track of the different program windows is much better with the multiple desktops function than in previous versions of Windows. I have a suggestion to make it
a little better.

Grant users the ability to name each desktop something other than "Desktop 1, ...2, ...3, Etc".





I believe others would find naming desktops to be a useful feature as well.
