Can we upgrade to Windows 7SP1 to Windows 10 without installing Updates from windows updateand directly start running the setup of windows 10.My Windows 7 PC is not up to date can i skip the update and directly start upgrading to windows 10

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
