  1. Can Windows Photos see photos?

I have been using the Microsoft Photos app seamlessly for a few days now. I am impressed and happy with what I have seen. I have imported many photos from my camera. However, earlier I moved my photos around in my "Pictures" folder. I have them organized nicely now, and I selected the folders to import from in the windows photos app appropriately. However, now no photos except for OneDrive photos will be shown. If I import photos from my camera, they show up just fine, then if I move them to a different folder and want to display photos from that folder, it does not show any photos. It says to me "No readable Photos, videos, or folders found." Even if I select my whole "Pictures" folder to display, no photos are displayed. This is a ridiculous problem,

why can't the app just work properly? I am just about done with this BS, it is a simple procedure to display photos, yet the app cannot even work properly. Viewing photos is not some new feature of computers. Windows software costs over $100. Unacceptable, lesson learned.

    :)

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done Can Windows Photos see photos? :) I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

    Can Windows Photos see photos?

Windows 10 Photos - Importing from iPhone no longer sees previously imported photos.

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

The Photos app in Windows 10 usually is able to distinguish the new photos and duplicates. This concern could be caused by incorrect settings or corrupted files. Kindly follow the below mentioned steps to resolve the issue.

    Step 1: Reset Microsoft Store.

I would suggest you to reset Microsoft Store initially, and sign in to Store and check for latest updates related to Store. After installing the latest updates, you may try to import pictures.

Step 2: Uninstall Photos app via PowerShell and then install it.

If the Photos app causes an error, you can repair it using PowerShell.

    • Click Start, type powershell, right-click Windows Powershell and choose
      Run as Administrator.

    • Execute the following command and press
      Enter: Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

After uninstalling the Photos app, you may go to Store and re-install the application.

Additional Information: You may also go through the article provided by
Andre Da Costa on importing your
    Photos in Windows 10

    Hope it helps.
