    Can you shut off automatic windows update restarts in home edition / professional?


    Hello, I have windows 10 home edition. From my understanding there is no way for the user to prevent automatic restarts of the computer due to windows updates? I usually have programs running overnight and lose all my data when my computer automatically restarts. Does windows 10 professional have the same issue? If not I will consider upgrading to windows 10 professional.

    Random shut down and restart??

    Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
    E220@2.406hz
    2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
    Windows xp

    Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused Can you shut off automatic windows update restarts in home edition / professional? :confused:*Mad Can you shut off automatic windows update restarts in home edition / professional? :mad:

    One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

    Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?

    i have some questions about the windows automatic updates in windows xp pro w sp/2. ive got about forty updates they recommend , mostly for security but i only installed two today. after installing them i found them in my add/remove programs in the control panel, if i add all these updates that is a lot of space on my hd almost 1 gig. i thought that updates just updated files and not created new programs. should i innore all these update suggestions from microsoft?
