Cannot access user profile. Data still there but I cannot access it through explorer.

HiProblem: I recently ticked the hidden folders icon in an attempt to see User/ appdata. When ticked a pop up with green progress bar came up and I assumed it was unhiding all the hidden files. What actually happened was it wiped my User profile, leaving only the Public user profile.Action 1: Even though my data appeared to be deleted including my desktop, etc, I immediately ran Windirstat and of course the user data block is still there. I can even open files from it one by one but I cannot get the system to recognize my user profile.Other facts: I also could not run CMD from the start window,

    :)

    Quick Access Crashes Explorer

    Hi Bill,

Quick Access is a new feature in Windows 10 File Explorer navigation pane which helps users quickly navigate to locations which are frequently used. However, if you're having issues with Quick Access, you can try to disable and enable it. To disable Quick
    Access, follow these steps:

    • Type File Explorer Option in the search box.
    • Click on File Explorer Options.
    • Under General tab, choose This PC in the Open File Explorer to: drop down menu.
    • Uncheck Show recently used files in Quick access and
Show frequently use folders in Quick access.
    • Click Apply an OK.
    • Restart the computer and re-enable Quick access.

Let us know how it goes after performing the suggested troubleshooting steps.

    Recover access database

Looks like you will need to rebuild the whole thing but at least you have the data still, right?
EDIT: Wait did you try this?

Convert a database to the Access 2007 file format

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/a...-the-access-2007-file-format-HA010048406.aspx

You cannot convert a replicated database to the Office Access 2007 file format. However, you can use Access 2007 to create a replica of a database that is formatted in either the Access 2000 or the Access 2002 - 2003 file format.

    More copy and paste:
[paste:font size="5"]Convert an Access 97 database, Convert an Access 95 database, or Convert an Access 2.0 database.
    • Click the Microsoft Office Button
Cannot access user profile. Data still there but I cannot access it through explorer. [IMG]
, point to Save As, and then, under Save the database in another format, click the file format to which you want to convert.
    • If any database objects are open when you use the Save Database As command, Access prompts you to close them prior to creating the copy. Click Yes to make Access close the objects, or click No to cancel the entire process. If needed, Access will also prompt you to save any changes.
    • In the Save As dialog box, type a file name in the File name box, and then click Save.
Access creates the copy of the database, and then opens the copy. Access automatically closes the original database.

User accounts in VB2005 from MS Access

I wasn't suggesting moving the result of the replace back to the textbox.

    More like Dim sqlString As String = "INSERT INTO USERS ([USERNAME], [PASSWORD]) VALUES ('" & replace(textbox1.text, "'", "''") & "', '" & replace(textbox2.text, "'", "''") & "')".

And I think the whole issue was the closing bracket I forgot *Smile Cannot access user profile. Data still there but I cannot access it through explorer. :) At least with Accdb (2007) files you don't have to use those [Access brackets] when accessing data from .NET. Not sure if that's forced with mdb files though.
