Windows 10: Cannot activate windows 10

My brother recently gave me his laptop but it was a professional one, so he had to ask to keep it when he left the company. He did, and so this is legal, however, now once I go to the menu where you activate windows 10, it tells me that windows cannot be activated on this device as it must be connected to the organization's activation server. I'm obviously never going to connect to my brother's old job's server so what can I do guys..

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
