Windows 10: Cannot activate Windows 7 Professional with original product key

I am getting a message saying "This copy of Windows is not genuine" on a Windows 7 Pro system and when I enter the original product key , I get "The product key you typed has been blocked from use by Microsoft" Code:0xC004C003.Is there any way to get this activated or to prevent any deactivating of software or usage?Thanks,

You can only obtain a product key by purchasing the product -- and legitimate copies of Windows 7 Professional are getting very difficult to find (and correspondingly expensive).

Do not buy a product key on its own.

If you are reinstalling Windows 7, use the product key on the COA sticker on the computer (for machines that came with Windows pre-installed). The edition of Windows you're installing must be exactly the same as the edition originally installed at the factory.

 

Using Windows 10 Professional Product key to Windows 8.1 Professional

You have to buy windows 8.1 Pro.

The Windows 10 key is only for Windows 10.

There is Downgrade Rights but you don't qualify for it as you bought Windows 10 Pro yourself and they only apply to OEM preinstalled Windows 10 OEM licenses (Dell, HP, etc)

Warning:

You do not buy a Product Key by itself, as they are normally stolen/pirated, Volume Licenses which are not for private use, or MSDN keys which are not to be sold by the original subscription holder.
