    cannot add my gmail account to mail app


    I bought an asus ROG Strix G531GD_G531GD two days ago and has been not able to add my gmail account to the mail app. I enters my mail id, and then the password, then the otp received to my linked mobile and then a window pops up which asks to click on "AGREE'. After clicking on agree a dialogue box opens telling "something went wrong""Error code: 0x8000000b"


    Please note: I tried with several google account id and even tried creating new google id from the mail app also and the result is same error code.

    Potential Solutions

    Based on some quick research there may be two options that may help resolve this. . .

    1. Enable the 2-Step Verification functionality and security feature with your Gmail account and then use the 2-Step Verification to verify and trust the Windows Mail app to have access to your Gmail account
    2. Enable and use the Less Secure Apps functionality by turning that ON and using your usual Gmail account password with the Windows Mail app to authenticate

    Where did you get that message about mail app isn't supported? And to create application password? Can you post a picture of it?

    I'm using gmail account in Mail app with two step verification and all I had to do was confirm password and second step verification.. All went smooth, and I'm getting mails in multiple Windows PCs and phone.
