Cannot burn MP4 Video file to DVD drive

Not sure if this is the right Topic.

Win 10 Pro Version 1809 Build 17763.55. DVD RW drive is Matshita DVD + RW UJ8E2 Dell Latitude E 6540 Laptop

Created an MP4 File using Win Movie Maker and now trying to burn it to DVD RW drive. Right click file and choose send to the DVD RW drive and see the desktop configuration file. In the pop up box l take the "With a CD/DVD Player" option and click next.

New screen showing file ready to be burned and a pop box tells me I have files ready to burn. When I right click on the DVD RW drive and select the option burn to DVD I get a pop up box with Disc Title (current Date) and Recording speed of 4x (there is an option of 2x and I have tried both). Click on Next and says Burning data files to the disc however within a few seconds it stops and ejects the disc. Pop up box gives a message “The write speed for recordable disc is either too fast or too slow for your CD or DVD burner. Insert a recordable disc that has a different write speed and then try again”.

I have also tried the above but used the video tools at the top of the screen to "Continue burning to disc" with the exact same result. I have also tried formatting the DVD disc but after beginning the format Windows tells me it was unable to complete the format. No reason given.

DVD RW discs are ones I have used in the past to burn video files to.

    Appreciate some help with this

    :)

  2. Burn pics and videos to DVD

    Hi Ewan,

You can also burn pictures and videos to DVD by using the File Explorer. To get started, follow these steps:

    • Insert the disc and open the File Explorer.
    • Select the files that you want to burn.
    • Right-click and send to DVD RW Drive (DCannot burn MP4 Video file to DVD drive :).
    • Create a disc title.
    • Once you are done, click Finish burning.
If you'd prefer to use a third-party software, we suggest that you check

  3. Burning MP4 Files to a DVD

I have Windows 10 on my new desktop computer and have a 1.9 GB MP4 file that I want to burn onto a DVD so that I can play it on my DVD player. Each time I try -- all I get is the same MP4 file burned to the DVD -- which doesn't play on my DVD player. Doesn't
the system have to convert the MP4 file to something else to go onto a DVD so it can play in DVD players? What am I doing wrong here?

Burning short mp4 video clips to DVD using Windows Media Player in Windows 10

Just got my first Windows 10 computer. I want to burn some short MP4 videos (under 10 minutes) to a DVD. I did the first two using Windows Media Player by dragging the videos into the burn list in WMP. Worked fine, the two videos were written to the "data"
DVD in a folder named Video. And were viewed by several friends on their DVD drives.

Went to add several more MP4 clips to the DVD using the exact same procedure. WMP started the burn, then stopped because of "not enough space" for a 40MB video. Even though everything shows there are 4.2GB of free space on the DVD!

What needs to be done so that WMP recognizes and uses the remaining 4.2GB of free space?
