Windows 10: Cannot change lock screen wallpaper [Windows 10 Pro]

I'm not sure if this exact question has been posted here. So sorry if its repeated..


I cannot change the lock screen wallpaper for Windows 10. Clicking on the browse button and selecting any image shows the below loading icon but then the preview just goes back to the current image and nothing else happens.




I even tried changing the image from pictures > set as lock screen, but that does nothing as well.

I think this issue has popped up after the recent cumulative update (i don't know the exact KB number)

Can someone plz suggest a fix fo this?? I've checked out some similar issues online n some of the results included changing stuff in the registry n really complicated answers. So I would appreciate a simple solution...

  What is the exact issue that you are facing?

  Are you facing issues while trying to change the lock screen Wallpaper?

  Are you not able to choose the directory where the wallpapers has been saved?
  

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to restart the computer and check if you are able to successfully change the lock screen wallpaper.

  From Desktop, right click and select
  Personalize.
  
• 
  In Personalization window, click on
  Lock Screen in the left pane.
  
• 
  And choose wallpaper you would like to apply for the lock screen by choosing the browse option.
  
• 
  Close the Personalization window.

Windows 10 lock screen wallpaper won't change.

Hey Akheel Ahmed P, thanks for the reply but your solution didn't work for me, the thread you linked me to suggested opening "gpedit msc" but seeing as I am on windows 10 home and not pro, I can't invoke the editor. Any other ways to make sure my lock
screen wallpaper doesn't change at all?
