    Cannot copy large .mov and .zip files with Windows 10


    I am having trouble copying/moving large .mov and .zip files from one HD to another HD. The files are around 6 gb and are not corrupted I can view the .mov file. I have update windows to 1909, as I read there was an admitted system problem with an earlier version doing these types of transfers. Has this been corrected or is there a workaround other than unzipping and then rezipping?

    hi dennis, i am happy to see that you have solved your problem with mov files.
    i suffer from the same problem, my computers freezes when i click into folder that cointains
    mov files.

    can you tell me the solution process from zero and step by step. i am not good with computers and i get confused in regedit, i need your help. thanks!

    .zip can't be set to File Explorer

    Hello Kathleen,

    I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.


    • Type Default programs
      in the search bar and press enter

    • Click on choose default programs by file type

    • Select .zip
      and select File Explorer
    Also you can visit the below link Zip and unzip files.
    (Steps applies to Windows 10).
