    I have this folder that won't delete for anything i do. I tried everything i could find on the internet but nothing. I tried to change ownership but it always says "you need permission from x to change" x=anything i change ownership to. Some tips would be welcome. Btw,the folder is from when i tried to reset my windows but i would not,and not it is taking 15 gigabytes on my ssd.

    Windows.~bt & Windows.old, can I delete them?

    Hi Mark,

    There are several ways on how to delete Windows.~bt & Windows.old folders on your computer. Simply follow the steps below:

    • Go Search and type Disc Cleanup.
    • Check the folder that you want to delete.
    • Press Ok.

    Note: Once you delete Windows.~bt file on your computer, you won't be able to go back with your previous Windows version.

    I deleted $Windows~.BT folder that was propably Windows 10 files. How to recover?

    Hello,

    So about two weeks ago I deleted a $Windows~.BT folder (through the cmd). Now I know that was Windows 10 files ready for install.

    How can I download it again? I'm sure I need to reinstall some update. But which?

    Deleting $windows.~bt

    OK, I was able to delete the $windows.~bt folder after removing the drive and mounting the volume on a different computer running another Windows instance. So I'm good there.

    Unfortunately, this didn't fix the problem about not being able to apply the new Windows build. I'll have to keep working on that. So far I haven't received a suggestion for what could be causing that upgrade to fail and I'm leaning towards deleting the
    volume and starting over.
