cannot enter HOMEGROUP after Build 10565

    Well Duffer,

I contacted Microsoft and maybe they interfered?

What i did was disconnecting the others from the network, easier than shutdown.

But still, when i was on the network alone and Windows id not give me the Homegroup i created a long time ago, that is strange. When i did get the message that there was NO Homegroup and i could create one, and then all of a sudden i have 2.

One i cannot use and one i can.

I think the bad one is corrupted. Do not know where to find it either.

    thanks

    Jeff

I will leave it like this right now, i guess MS will make things all right soon.

Well this morning (it is around 9.40 AM here), i only have 2 coputers in the network AGAIN.

But since Build 10576 is installing right now, i am very hopeful that everything will be ok.

Had to remove Bing also on my pc because the Slideshow was not working, as on my wifes computer...

MS asked via mail why i removed Bing.

So my problems right now, unless Build 10576 takes care of them:

Slideshow not working with Bing on computer
Network shows only 2 pc's instead of 4
    Cannot see the pictures when extra large icons is selected;

.NET 3.5 Feature on Demand for X64

and now i am back in the network with one other computer, but still missing 2.

Just info.....nobody obviously can help me out here.

cannot enter HOMEGROUP after Build 10565

    Latest news here:

Could not see my own computer in the network, everything is ok in the Homegroup.

    Microsoft gave me this:

.NET 3.5 Feature on Demand for X64

Lang Pack (Language Features) Feature On Demand for X64[en-US]

Insider Hub Feature on Demand for X64

    Installed yesterday, so november 1st.

Now i have again 2 computers in the network, instead of 4.

I recontacted MS for another solution.

Since Win 10, each of our computers thinks it is on its' own "network". They each have different network names and I can't get an inclusive network map but at least they are all in the same homegroup and can share.
Man, you have the patience of Job ! Best of luck.

    Well Duffer,

when i open run and use \\pc\drive\folder i open one of the computers i cannot see in the network.

Even stranger: i use Always Sync to take B.U. to other computers and that program still runs ok and does the job.

I can live with this problem and hopefully it gets fixed someday.

At last *Biggrin. You were solving network problems while I have been offline for the last 20 hours (watermain construction cut a bunch of phone lines) . C'est la vie !!!!

    Hi Duffer,

"C'est la vie" are you from Québec?

I was there 3 years ago.

No, born and raised in Ontario, but spent my early teens in North Bay where many of my buddies came from french speaking families.
Just curious, but how did you make out with the "Quebecois French patois" ?

    Well Duffer,

in Canada the French is not the French-French, but you know that i mean.

In Québec they say "mon char" (spelling might be wrong) and they mean "ma voiture" or "my car".

Strange, but overhere in the Netherlands AND Belgium, English is not pronounced as should either.

Here most people say "beckhand" and it should be "backhand".

The major difference is that for you, english is not your "official language". In Quebec, they are not officially bilingual and english usage is aggressively discouraged "to protect their french heritage". In school in Ontario, I was taught Parisienne? french and have to struggle to communicate in Québecois yet had very little trouble communicating in Cajun french in New Orleans (Louisiana, USA). I have a neighbour who was raised in Quebec and she is totally disgusted that in France they use the term "le weekend?" instead of keeping the archaic term. God forbid that any good Quebecer should adopt a phrase from english and sully their language.
Sorry for rambling on but I have put up with their nonsense for 50 years and am becoming increasingly intolerant. Possibly the reason for "beckhand" can be traced to hearing "David "BECKHAM" so often ;~{)

cannot enter HOMEGROUP after Build 10565

    hey guys,

Finally i created a shortcut on the desktop, typed in L: \\PCNAME for the computers not in the network and put this in the Start Menu.

So for me problem solved this way.

    Grand !!!!
As usual, if the door won't open, just keep looking until you find a window you can get through. Hopefully M$ will come through with an actual fix.
