Windows 10: Cannot exit Safe Mode Start screen

In trying to get the latest Win 10 update to stop plaguing me and just load I followed a post that suggested something in Safe Mode. The post did not mention the fact that there is a ridiculous problem where I can get stuck in (un)Safe Mode Hell. This is where you land on the Safe Mode start screen but it doesn't recognise your password used in nnormal mode start, yet there is no Reboot to Full Windows selection on the start/shutdown button, lower right of screen, so I'm stuck.

Using wife's laptop I've already spent 3 two hour slots watching the Windows installation/repair file fail to load onto my 32GB USB stick only to find a post where someone discovered the file had to be moved onto the stick in order to run. Another two hours later the install/repair file succeeded to load to the USB stick then run on my PC.

I followed some locked posts here including Time Lady's clear instructions which worked for others but for me it worked up to the black DOS screen, where I got stuck.

I tried the bcdedit command in order to check my Identifier before entering the deletevalue command line. The bcdedit line couldn't complete (??) so I couldn't read my actual identifier, which meant I had to try the deletevalue command using the two identifiers (current & default) mentioned in posts. Neither of these identifiers worked (see pic below).

Can anyone see where I might be going wrong (syntax? / my spelling?) and can anyone suggest a way of getting the bcdedit command to work so that I can see my identifier. With the correct identifier I could rerun the deletevalue command, then hopefully get out of the Loop of Death?

I suggest you to try the below steps to exit from the Safe mode on Windows 10.

Steps to place the computer in normal mode.

• Press Windows + R keys to open
  Run command.
• Type msconfig and press
  Enter.
• In the System Configuration window, click on
  General tab.
• Select Start-up selection as
  Normal startup, click on Apply
  and Ok.
• Follow onscreen instructions.

Stuck in safe mode in windows 10

Safe mode is intended to help fix most, if not all problems within an operating system, it's not good if we got stuck on it. To correct this, we suggest that you follow the steps below to exit out of Safe mode:

• Open Run command by pressing Windows key + R
  keys on the keyboard and type msconfig in the command box and press
  Enter.
• Under General tab, put a check on Normal Startup option.
• Reboot the system and check if the changes are effective.

Let us know if you are able to exit out of Safe mode with these steps.

 

Password not accepted in Safe mode

Have you tried all the above steps suggested by Sangeeta Sarkar on September 13, 2015.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
• Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
• What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

• 
  At the login screen click on the power symbol.
  
• 
  Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
  
• 
  After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
  
• 
  Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
  
• 
  Click on Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
  Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.
