Windows 10: Cannot generate class diagram in visual studio 2022

After adding the Class Diagram feature, the option to generate the diagram is not shown in the project menu in visual studio:I tried closing and opening VS, restarting Windows, reinstall the individual Class Design component,but without success. The option to create a class diagram is never shown. How can i fix the installation of Class Design and fix this problem?

Visual Studio 2022 17.1 is now available

Today, Visual Studio 2022 17.1 graduates from preview and reaches general availability. Feedback from developers like you have helped us shape and refine Visual Studio 17.1 through its preview cycle and we’d like to thank you for your part in Visual Studio’s journey.

In my last blog post for Visual Studio 2022 17.1 Preview 2, I shared details around exciting additions to Visual Studio that included enhancements in Git, Search and Navigation, productivity improvements in C# and C++, and added capabilities for personalizing colored tabs. Throughout the rest of the 17.1 Previews, we continued to address feedback you submitted via Developer Community. To see the full list of community feedback we’ve addressed, visit the fixes page on Developer Community.

In addition to fixes for customer-reported issues, we’ve also added made some changes to make you more productive in Visual Studio. You’ll also find improvements to solution close performance as a result of optimization of cleanup operations when closing a solution, which builds on the performance work we’ve been doing throughout the preview cycle. Visual Studio 2022 launch event on November 8, 2021

On behalf of our entire team, I’m excited to announce the upcoming release of Visual Studio 2022 on November 8, and the immediate availability of the Visual Studio 2022 Release Candidate (RC) and Preview 5. We invite you to explore the latest capabilities of Visual Studio 2022 at our virtual launch event on November 8. Throughout the day, you can learn from some special guest speakers, talk back to the Visual Studio team, and even download exclusive digital swag.

Our free, online launch event kicks off at 8:30 AM Pacific Time on November 8 with a keynote from Scott Hanselman, the Visual Studio product team, and myself (add to calendar). We’ve scheduled breakout sessions by technology area, so that you can learn about the most significant changes in your space. There are also a lot of Tips & Tricks talks focusing on all the new capabilities and how to get the most out of Visual Studio 2022. There’s also a live Q&A throughout, so you’ll be able to ask the team directly if you have questions. And that’s not all—our launch party will also have downloadable Visual Studio 2022 digital swag for you.

Download Visual Studio 2022 RC and Preview 5

By installing the RC release version of Visual Studio 2022, you can now prepare for the General Availability (GA) of Visual Studio 2022. The GA version of Visual Studio 2022 is fully supported by Microsoft. Both RC and GA versions come with a go-live license, for production use.

You should use the RC release if you wish to use Visual Studio to build production-ready apps and projects and receive less frequent feature updates. At launch, the RC version will update to GA version.

You should use the Preview 5 release if you wish to try out the latest features of Visual Studio 2022. At launch, the Preview 5 version will update to Visual Studio 2022 17.1 Preview 1 and will contain the latest features the team is working on.

If you have a license to the Enterprise or Professional edition and have been using that edition, you can simply update to Preview 5 or RC and sign in with your subscription user account. If you’re eligible to use Community edition (terms), then you can also update to Preview 5 or RC. If you don’t have a license or are not able to use Community edition, then there are trials available for you try out Visual Studio 2022.

Visual Studio 2022 Preview 1 now available

We’re excited to announce that the first preview release of Visual Studio 2022 is ready to install! This is the first release of a 64-bit Visual Studio and we’d love for you to download it, try it out, and join us in shaping the next major release of Visual Studio with your feedback.

Our key goal with this preview is to test and tune the scalability of the new 64-bit platform! With the new 64-bit platform Visual Studio is now capable of scaling to make use of all the system resources you have to improve the reliability of Visual Studio especially when working with complex solutions or using Visual Studio over long periods of time. The 64-bit conversion effort affects every part of Visual Studio, so the scope is much bigger than our usual previews.

We know that you expect quality, stability, and scalability from Visual Studio. And to be totally transparent, the quickest way for us to get there is when real developers like you tell us where we can improve. We really do pay attention to every bug report, suggestion, and upvote! Which you can submit from inside Visual Studio via report a problem.

Help us improve the quality and stability by reporting a problem within Visual StudioThe Visual Studio 2022 previews can be installed side-by-side with earlier versions of Visual Studio, are available in all three editions (Community, Pro, and Enterprise), and are free to use.

We need your feedback

We encourage you to try out the preview and use it just like Visual Studio 2019. We appreciate your time in providing feedback and completing in-product surveys, which are invaluable in making Visual Studio 2022 the best developer environment for you.

We would particularly love to hear about your experiences working with very large and complex solutions in Visual Studio 2022. Before the 64-bit upgrade, customers with this kind of solution would sometimes experience issues with Visual Studio as it ran out of memory to use in the main 32-bit process. During early testing of Visual Studio 2022, the same customers were able to run the IDE for days, even with solutions containing 700 (or more!) projects.

What’s coming

Because most of the Preview 1 upgrades have to do with 64-bit support, we’ll be releasing an exciting slate of new features and performance improvements starting in Preview 2. You can read all about those upcoming features on the Visual Studio roadmap. One new feature you can try right away is the update to IntelliCode – you can automatically complete code, up to a whole line at a time.

There’s still some work left in moving Visual Studio to 64-bit, and a small number of the features in Visual Studio 2019 are not included in Visual Studio 2022 Preview 1. You can find a list of those upcoming features in the release notes.

During the Visual Studio 2022 preview, our partners who build the extensions that you use and love will be working to update their extensions. While they do that, their extensions won’t be available in Visual Studio 2022 right away.

The first preview of Visual Studio 2022 for Mac will be coming soon, giving you a first look at the new modern macOS UI for Visual Studio. We still have some work to do before we feel it’s ready for developer feedback and we’ll keep you updated on its progress here on the Visual Studio blog.
