Windows 10: Cannot get data from usb attached ssd

I have a laptop that kicked the bucket. It had a new 250GB WD Blue Nand Sata SSD M.2 2280. I am trying to access it via USB connection to a desktop. I can see the drive in device manager and in disk management. I cannot see it in explorer. I attached a pick of disk management. The drive shows as not initialized. If I choose GPT, I get what you see in the attached pic. Not sure where to go from here. I just want to get the pics, docs from the drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

USB boot for bios update

Did the first step. It already doesn't work. Note the capacities and drive letters M:/N: The HP utility is about to format my raid-1 volume containing my 2 750gb drives. It thinks it's the usb stick. I can not select any other drives in the HP utility. My 512mb usb stick is U:.

Any other suggestions?

Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown
I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. Hello Allan,

To attach a document file on an email, you can follow the step given below:

For Windows 10 Mobile:

• Launch to File Explorer app.
• Press and hold the file that you need to attach on the email, and select
  Share button.
• Select Outlook Mail on the suggested applications.

For Windows Phone 8.1:

• Download and install
  Files app.
• Launch Files app.
• Tap and hold the document that you need to attach on the email, and select
  Share button.
• Select the Mail app on the suggested applications.
