Cannot get screen resolution right using 46" TV, no resolutions work

I'm using a 46" flatscreen. The proper resolution would be 1920, as this is what I was using before. However, doing so cuts off the edges of the screen(large enough portions to make using Windows difficult). I tried switching to some other resolutions(as well as, of course, playing with the Aspect on my TV) but nothing works. This is very aggravating, since it seems that this new version of Windows doesn't support this screen or something. I hope this can be fixed, otherwise I don't know what to do besides go back to Windows 8(and frankly I'm not sure how to do that, either, since I don't have the Windows 8 disc but only the OS prepackaged on the system).

    Thanks for any help,
    Richard

    :)

    Screen Mirroring with Windows 10

    What kind of adjustments?

I went into the display properties (right clicked on desktop - clicked on graphic properties) and adjusted the resolution for my monitor and my Samsung TV. Initially when I was able to mirror the monitor did not show full screen. I needed to adjust the resolution
so the monitor correctly displayed the right resolution.

  3. Issues with Microsoft Treasure Hunt and Windows 10

What screen resolution do you have?

I also have the problem on a laptop with native resolution 1600x900. If I do a remote desktop session to the notebook in 1920x1080, the problem is gone. Also, on a desktop PC with native resolution 1920x1080 I do not have the problem.

So I guess, it is a problem with resolutions other than 1920x1080. In the latter resolution, it seems to work fine as of December, 19th, 2015. Cannot get screen resolution right using 46" TV, no resolutions work :)

    Best regards

Cannot get screen resolution right using 46" TV, no resolutions work

I had to create a custom aspect ratio to get it to work. Probably not the best way to do it but couldn't find any other solutions. Thanks for all the great help.
