Windows 10: Cannot import error accessing the registry

Discus and support Cannot import error accessing the registry in Windows 10 Performance & Maintenance to solve the problem; I took a quick look at the contents of that file.     Alright so i did registry cleanup with Registry Cleaner Software Downloads at RegSofts.com and now im getting some problems with windows updates and mouse

    Reg cleaners create registry backups to revert changes, those that do not, should be avoided!

    Try system restore and if that does not work, a repair-upgrade.

    Ok, much clearer now. Do you have a system image backup? If so, I would strongly suggest to restore it. If not, get the ISO for FCU (16299) and do an in-place System Repair. It will not blow anything away, just re-do the system files. You'll keep your data and apps.

    And please avoid those Do-it-all Reg Cleaners, they can be very dangerous.

    Alright i must been blind. Thank god that cleaner made backup and there was restore backup button. Is there any programs or something to check if my registry is now good just to be sure ?

    Not really, if I understand you. If you restored the entries from the backup that the Cleaner made, you probably are ok. Biggest issue in doing that is time. Too much elapsed time after the clean and before the restore, and other values may have changed naturally.....you really have no way of knowing for sure, unless something breaks or starts acting weird.

    If all appears to be running ok, and I know that's a subjective thing, you may want to run a system file check to let it look for any corruption. Depending on you machine, it'll run 10-30 minutes.

    At an Admin Command prompt, copy/paste sfc /scannow and enter. Just let it run. If no errors found that could not be corrected, good. One step at at time. OK?


    Keep in mind, you always have the option of the In-Place Repair as mentioned before if it goes bad on you. In-Place Repair is one of the main tools to fix an ailing installation. You will not loose anything, and get a fresh OS.

    Go do a backup (Macrium preferred *Smile), and just keep an eye on it for a while. Make yourself happy that's it's happy. There are always ways to fix. Cheers! *Smile
