Windows 10: Cannot Increase Resolution to 1980 to 1080

Hello, This7 is my first post so sorry if I mess up but I have been having this problem for a long time! I cannot increase my resolution to 1980 to 1080 on my monitor and can only choose 1600 to 900. This causes my monitor to be cut off on the right and I cannot see the windows logo bottom left and it also leaves this HUGE black bar on the left! I don't think this is over scanning or under scanning because I can't move my mouse past the black bar on the left. I have UPDATED my DRIVER to the CURRENT version and REBOOTED my computer and factory reset my PC all with no avail! PLEASE READ FULLY!

1920 X 1080 is not on recommended resolution list

my monitor has 1920 X 1080 resolution, but 1920 X 1080 is not on recommended resolution list. how can I get 1920 X 1080 resolution listed?

What exactly happens when you try to change the screen resolution? Do you get any error message?



The recommended resolution on windows 10 is 1920 x 1080. Change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and check.

The reason why your display was stretched sideways is because the resolution was in-corrected.



Here are the steps to change the screen resolution:

• Right Click the Desktop and select
  Screen Resolution.
• Click the Make text and other items larger or smaller link.
• In the Change only the text size section click the
  drop down menu to select the items you want to change.
