Windows 10: Cannot install update (KB2538243) - Error 0x80070643

I keep getting this error, I have attempted to install it several times without success. How do I get this update to install?

Windows 10 lastest update won't install

The latest Windows 10 update won't install, I get this message

Thanks for your reply, I have followed all the steps but the update still won't install and gives the same error!

 

Ok, I left out a step: the DISM command requires that a source for Windows 10 be available to make repairs. I forgot that I made these changes before I ran the initial set of instructions.
Try this first, then run the other steps:

press WindowsKey+R, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
Click "Computer Configuration", click "Administrative Templates", click "System", and then double-click the "Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair" setting.
Select "Enabled", click check box for "Contact Windows Update directly...." - apply and OK

 

Thanks for getting back to me, I have done the gpedit thing and then re-done the cmd stuff but still no joy.
Update not installed and same error code....

 

Did you download the off-line update or did you let the auto-update do it's thing?

I cannot find KB2538243 offline for Windows 10 - you sure it's a windows 10 patch?
looks like all patches for Windows 10 starts with 30, available offline patches can be downloaded from here: Software Point - Technology Simplified

Don't worry, it says that it only supports Windows 7 or lower, but Windows 10 should work.

 

Not for Windows 10:

Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows XP

 

Protector, just let the OP see if it installs on Windows 10.

 

Thanks for the help but after I had downloaded the update and tried to install it, it failed and said "another installation is already in progress, complete that installation before proceeding"
Windows update has found this update for me, I am running Windows 10 Pro 64bit.

 

Try to restart your computer.
