Windows 10: Cannot Install Win 10 Insider Preview 18985.1 (vb_release) Error Code 0xc1900101

I am currently running Windows 10 Enterprise Insider Preview. Build 18885.rs_prerelease.190419-1606 and I have been stuck on this version since May 2019. I have downloaded the latest feature update 18985.1 (vb_release), but everytime I attempt to restart and install updates, it always fails at about 40-50% through and attepts to recover installation. Recovery always works fine and I am able to get back to Windows 10. But, this is frustrating. This specific version of Windows 10 is unstable and I get Green Screen of Death every once in a while. I want to update but it always gives me Error Code 0xc1900101. Can anyone explain what is going on?

Hi,

When I try to do a windows Update on the insider build my update is installed however once I reboot I get stuck on the windows logo screen.

The only way to get out of the lock out is to reset the machine. The once I go back an look at the Windows update I see the message:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0xC1900101: Windows 10 Insider Preview 18348.1 (19h1_release).

Any suggestions on how to resolve?

• Are you referring to Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14267?
• Which Intel drivers are you referring to?
• Are you referring to Intel drivers deployed through Windows Updates?
• Did you get any error message when they fail?

From your description, I suspect that the problem might be due to unsuccessful installation of preview build caused this issue. Suggest you to check installing the build again to see if the same thing happens again. If you don't see the
